How To Inspire Yourself

By Jennie Gandhi

Staying motivated is an integral part of life. Else it can roll you to the foot of the hill and you will not even realize it. Going with the flow is an equation people draw up in life. And stick to their formula till the water has dried up in the pond.

Then suddenly they realize that their life has passed by and they have not been able to make something out of it. Another reason why people take up the equation is because of failure. They tried to do something in life but it failed. So they do not want to take that step again. A teacher once in school said, that failure is a stepping-stone to success. Walt Disney is a classic example. He went bankrupt before he could initiate Disneyland. Henry Ford too got broke 5 times before he actually started his business venture.

The first thing to feel motivated it to be with peace with yourself. Don't draw up the inadequacies in you. Instead look at the advantages. Then look into the mirror everyday and say, "I can do it." No task is impossible if you believe in yourself.

There are times when family members or close friends look down on your idea and tell you switch it off. But if you believe in yourself, there is no harm trying. Instead of plunging in completely begin completing a smaller task. So if you want to open a business in fabrics. Get yourself the know-how of fabrics - Indian & international, the spend, the manpower required, the logistics and all the details. If you are not in the industry, then take up a job so that you get hands on approach. Partner with someone of your calibre and begin a few transactions. The satisfaction your work will earn you is far more leveraged than sitting and idealizing.

Here are a few pointers to push you off the couch.

*Value what you are thinking and are about to do. Do not look at it as just another thought. If you believe in yourself then value your idea.

*See yourself doing what you want to. So if it is flying a plane then visualize yourself in the cockpit, taking the plane up and soaring the skies.

*Find some motivation and inspiration through quotes or senior people who look up to you.

*Reward yourself every time you have achieved a small target. This way you will be happy with small things that you accomplish.

*Partner with friends or associates who you think will be best to begin the venture. If they are on the same wavelength as yours then the goal will not seem too far.

*Forgiving and forgetting - this is very important if you have not been able to achieve your dream. Agreed, you have burnt your fingers but take it as a learning step. So forgive yourself and others.
Forget the episode. Begin on a fresh page.

In today's stressful life apart from hard work one also needs inspiration to succeed in the task thus good. http://www.inspirationalquotations.net and http://www.inspirationalspeeches.net can help to achieve success in life. Personal Mastery - Diligence And Prudence

By Steve Wickham

Diligence and prudence are two complementary factors in developing a strong, focused, and pliable character to augment the development of wisdom. This subject is not for the faint of heart. It's strictly for those in life who genuinely seek to grow without regard for the personal cost. This growth is obviously counter-cultural to the flow of Western life, which is so often pleasure-based and at odds with the development of character.

It is argued that when a person can master both qualities I call Principal Values viz diligence and prudence, and demonstrate high competence in living them in a consistent day-in-day-out way, then they have achieved personal maturity that God intends for them as a person. This is personal mastery over the desires, and competence in that person's ability to test their own heart and seek God for direction along their way.

Not only does this person live in a highly diligent way, they do it for the right reasons i.e. prudent perspective drives the diligent way. They're careful in their expression of diligence. Conversely, this person is also highly prudent, yet they gird their discretion with a level of detached accountability that oozes diligence -- again, their prudence is driven from the right heart or motivation.

A person with low levels of prudence, but high on diligence may exhibit a brash boldness that gets things done hang the consequences i.e. simple greed or too carefree. The other extreme is a person low on diligence but high on prudence; this person may be inclined toward motivational problems -- they might know what they need to do but can't do it for lack of the principal value of diligence i.e. simple laziness or lack of courage. What is confounding for people with both of these conditions is the lack of motivation or ability to do what the wise know is right -- across the board -- in spite of the personal cost.

We can view these both on Quadrant model (which can't be seen in this article). People fit anywhere on the Quadrant according to their cross-referenced proficiency in diligence and prudence.

What people find is the hardest thing to get through is the "motive wall." This is the biggest barrier to attaining high levels of both principal values.

The key in personal mastery is determining where we fit on both scales and then it's about setting goals to improve our motivation, increasing our character around both diligence and prudence.

When Opportunity Knocks Open The Door

By Donna Beserra

In this world we are each given many opportunities for achievement and enrichment of our lives. The problem is that many people don't even notice those opportunities, or they simply ignore them. Some people feel they are too challenging, require too much effort, and that it may take too long for them to reap the benefits.

I've had many opportunities come my way. I tried my best to grasp each one even though I felt overwhelmed. When I wrote my first Twirly Shirley book several years ago, I had to struggle to get it published, but I did so because I did not want to miss an opportunity. I went on to take publishing and business classes so that I could Self Publish my other books.

At the same time I was doing all of this, I was given two more writing opportunities. I wrote two short stories to be published in two separate places. One of them was published after I went through editing and revisions. The other story has not yet been published, but may someday be when another opportunity comes my way.

In addition to everything else that was going on, I was struggling with the computer. I was not experienced with a computer, and I had to learn as I went along. I did have some help from others who were knowledgeable about computers, but there were many things I had to figure out for myself.

I managed to get three books and a short story published. I had to take it slow because I didn't have all the funds that I needed. I had used photographs of my children and computer artwork that I did myself. When I first wrote the stories, they were part of a hobby that I shared with my children. The books were very special because my kids were in them. I had decided to publish them so we could share the stories with other people,

A few years later I ran into a friend I hadn't seen in years, Melody Karns Trone. Melody was an artist. Melody and I are now working together to create new versions of my Twirly Shirley books. I am so thankful for Melody because I am not an artist and could not do professional work. Melody is a very talented artist, and was able to base many of her illustrations on the children.

I have strived for success and have now started reaping the rewards of all of my efforts. I can't describe all of the benefits I have received by opening the door to opportunity, without writing an entire book. My advice to you is this: When opportunity knocks at your door, be sure to answer! I'm so glad I did.

Change Yourself By Raising Your Own Standards

By Deepak M

Every individual aspires to change in life for better, as only thing constant in life is Change! A change will be of real value if it is everlasting and consistent. Many of us experience changes which last only temporary, making us feel let down and there by disappointed subsequently. Many people have there by developed a mindset unconsciously that changes are always temporary. For example, some one wanting to lose weight, finds himself/herself procrastinating doing it as he /she unconsciously knows whatever efforts he/she puts to slim down, will be only rewarded for short time.

That does not mean that one cannot develop a mentality which will help in having a an ever lasting change. These are the same changes an individual must make in order to create personal change, a company to maximize its profits and so on. The same applies to the world community which must be made to preserve the quality of life globally.

One of the things an individual should do if he sincerely wants to make an everlasting change is to raise his standards. He must change as to what he demands from himself... obviously that should be for better or in fact the best! One should write down all the things he/she would no longer accept in his/her life, things which would be no longer tolerated, and all the things which one aspired to become!

There are many examples of people who raised their own standards and acted accordingly to maintain that benchmark. History has inspiring examples of people like Henry Ford, Albert Einstein and Steven Spielberg to name a few, who went many extra miles to raise their standards. The same power exists in every individual if he/she has the courage to unleash it. So, unleash the power within and begin with the first step - changing yourself!
